Caribbean stud poker is played on a blackjack sized table with the usual 52-card deck. Caribbean stud poker play begins with each player making an ante bet in an assigned square. When this is completed, each player receives five cards face-down. Although players may look at their own cards, they may not share any of that information with others. The dealer also receives five cards, four face-down and one face-up. The player may then either raise or fold. Should the player fold, he must forfeit his ante and cards to the dealer. So if you want to take a break from the free slots online that you have been playing then give Carribbean stud poker a try.

When all players have made their plays, the dealer shows his cards. He needs to qualify with at least an ace and a king. If he does not, then all remaining ante bets pay even money and all raise bets push. If he does, then each player's hand is compared to the dealer's, with the best hand winning in each case. If the dealer has a more valuable hand than the player, then the player loses both the ante and the raise.
In the unlikely event that any two hands are equal, then both the ante and raise push. If the player has the higher hand the ante pays even money and the raise pays.
